Reflections
As Europeans, having grown up in the 70s in West-Germany with terrorism bringing the country almost to its knees, having moved to New York across the World Trade Center only several days before the terror events on September 11th 2001, and as avid music lovers and frequent concert goers, we are deeply shocked and saddened by the acts of terror that took hold of Paris last night.
Running a music blog, and having seen postings from some of our favorite bands -some we’re also friends with- who even have played the very same venue in Paris, this all hits painfully close to home. We know about loss and tough times and our hearts go out to all who are grieving.
One thing is for certain though as well: we must not succumb to terror because its very nature is to exploit human fear to help achieve questionable goals.
Here’s to life and the good in people! Don’t give in and continue to enjoy music. Stay safe and treasure life.
