SONG PICK: Motions – Back To Where I Begun
Most of us have been there at least once in our lives, at a point close to no return and “Back To Where I Begun” is dealing with exactly that situation, contemplating of starting over. It’s easy to fall in love with this song, aside from the well crafted lyrics. When “Back to Where I Begun” starts, upon hearing the hauntingly beautiful vocals, a nerve gets hit, they sound so oddly familiar and yet refreshingly new! I get quite a Dave Gahan vibe here and am all in awe. That’s not all though. “Back To Where I Begun” the debut single of Dublin band Motions formed by Tom Daly and Dave Nulty in 2015, also impresses with minimalist textures and heavy driving guitars, all coming together in an anthem-like super catchy track.
