PHOTOS: Overcoats charm the audience at Mercury Lounge
It is actually hard not to be charmed by Hana and JJ, two young women who write and perform music together with extraordinary passion and enthusiasm. They have this kind of blind, effortless understanding on stage that you see rarely in a band (Warpaint comes to mind). And while their band name, Overcoats has a somewhat quaint vibe to it, their music has not: they mix traditional singer/songwriter craft and two-way harmonies with cutting-edge electronic production.
Tuesday night at Mercury Lounge was their last show for a while: they retreat to write and record new songs. In the meantime, enjoy some photos here:
