SONG PICK: Willodean – The Gold
“The Gold” by Los Angeles-based indie rock trio Willodean is absolutely gorgeous with its lazy beats, lush guitar strumming and a crazy-cool hook that is impossible to escape. This is power-pop at its best, complete with the always joyful cowbells! The three band members of Willodean bring diverse musical backgrounds to the project which shape the band’s sound perfectly: the southern roots of front man Abbie Huxley, the melodic and smart songwriting chops of Randy Wooten, and the indie rock edge of producer/bass player Eric Holden.
