SONG PICK: Mode Moderne – Moderne Love
Sometimes it feels as if exciting, contemporary music is left to the young, the very young even. Luckily, this is only an impression and the more I am excited to having come across “Moderne Love” by Vancouver trio Mode Moderne. Phillip Intilé, or as he introduced himself to us, ⅓ of Mode Moderne, reveals the following about the gorgeous, free-spirited and instantly catchy track:
“Lyrically, the song is a meditation on my relationship with my friend and songwriting partner, Clint. We grew up skateboarding together and road-running around suburban Vancouver – willfully and freely lost under a thousand sporadic incandescent lights. All relationships face challenges and ours has come a long way in the 20 years we’ve known each other.”
I can only imagine, the many memories the two share, and how much more material there will be for songs as delightful as this one here.
