SONG PICK: PWNT – Shortcuts
“Shortcuts,” the new single by PWNT couldn’t be any sunnier or more laid-back even if he tried. Might very well be that Kosta Galanopoulo, the artist behind the moniker PWNT, grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and now resides in Los Angeles, California, exchanging one warm and sunny state with another. Our surroundings not necessarily influence our artistic outcome but such a glorious carefree vibe as in “Shortcuts” is not easy to come by. Add a lovely dose of nostalgic feel to the track plus some super groovy hooks and ready is a gorgeous song that offers you a feel-good vibe any time of day or year.
Asked about “Shortcut,” Galanopoulo says:
I cut this track a few years ago at my studio in LA, and ended up recutting the vocals at a bungalow in Miami this past year. My buddy Steven Frieder in NYC cut horns remotely. I was chasing a cruising vibe in the feel of it all.
The cruising vibe shines through throughout all of “Shortcut.” Beautiful! Listen now to “Shortcuts,” our Song Pick of the Day, out via Acrophase Records:
