Max Doud – Overdue
At home in Rochester, NY, Max Doud has been making music in earnest since he was 13. Now 17, he signed to a not-so-small label (Universal!) and released the beautifully catchy “Overdue” on the second to last day of the year. We all know of tasks or feelings that are overdue, and as such, the song is especially fitting for going into a new year, making peace with the past, and being open to something new. When asked about the meaning of “Overdue,” Max says:
“Overdue” is about getting over something in your life. Whether it be a relationship or any other challenge, it’s about moving past it and looking forward to what’s coming. It’s about moving past mistakes and knowing changes are needed and having the courage to make those changes despite the addiction to what’s familiar to you.”
