SONG PICK: Ideini – Iris
French-Italian indietronica duo Ideini is at home in Dundee, Scotland and the music they create is as creative and surprising as the different backgrounds they are coming from. Ideini is comprised of Theo Duplus and Francesca Martino and together they invite listeners “to stop and just let go.” They were testing the waters by releasing a flurry of highly appealing cover songs, which you’d want to check out here. They now released “Iris,” their first own composition, announcing an EP to follow in fall this year. The duo says about “Iris:”
This song was written after a hike in Scotland’s wilderness and Theo’s metaphysical experience with a deer during a full-moon snowy night. This song aims at bringing the listener to introspection, between dream and reality. The song points out human alienation from nature and from himself.
