Hothead Wave – Here
When a relationship gets out of balance, it is better to demand change than become sad and whiny. Better even, write a roaring rock song and say what you want. That is what Nashville via Lima musician Lizzy Cruz and her band Hothead Wave do with their debut single “Here,” and I’m sure things improved after that.
Lizzy says:
'"Here" is about a relationship dynamic where you don’t feel seen or heard. I wanted this song to be upbeat and have a demanding tone, rather than melancholy and slow. I wanted the question “Can I be here…?!” to be rhetorical. Like, just let me be who I am! At this point in my life, this song is more than a rhetorical question, it’s a demand, a declaration."
