Dekker – Popped the Top

Soothing, mesmerizing, and uplifting are three words that popped up in my brain when I listened to “Popped the Top” for the first time. Fast forward many more times of listening pleasure, I still find Dekker’s new song beautifully calming and joy-inducing and oh-so-irresistible! I have been a fan of Dekker’s enchanting vocals and soft guitar playing for many years already, yet it’s been a while since I’ve featured the British indie folk singer/songwriter. The gorgeous track is taken from Dekker’s upcoming album Future Ghosts, out March 1, 2024.

Asked about “Popped the Top,” Dekker says:

“Do you ever talk to yourself? I do. That’s what this song is. Me to me. I hope this song resonates with a lot of people because that’s always a trip and a useful way for music be BUT when I sit down to write, I’m usually doing it for me first.”
