Emika – ((star key))
An old piano, lost in a large room – that sounds like a new Emika song. Until the drums set in, that is. If it is even drums. We have been following the work of singer, songwriter, producer, and composer Emika since her self-titled debut in 2011, and she add new ideas to her signature sounds and vocals. The song feels almost like an instrumental, with the voice in the distance and melody and beat taking center stage. And if you let yourself fall into this fascinating soundscape, then the title “((starkey))” suddenly makes sense.
